After many years of my idyllic job within a mail order art and
craft supplies company, (testing products, giving advice, inventing
kits and generally creating with all products), I left the 9-5 to be
a full time mum to my 2 small boys.
Over the years I have dabbled in all manner of arts and crafts
both professionally and as a hobby, but finally settled on felt
work due to it’s luxuriant and endearing feel. I love the warmth of
felt, the bright colours and the way in which it twinkles when
combined with beads, sequins and buttons.
Despite the fact that 2 small boys take up a lot of time and
energy, in the summer of 2005 the Felt Fairy was officially ‘born’.
I tend to make items that I would be happy to adorn my own
home with, Christmas decorations being a favourite. I also have a
passion for fibres and yarns including needle felting, wet felting
and knitting.
If one of my creations makes someone smile I feel I have
achieved something worthwhile and am given a boost to carry on
creating.
